MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES
Rules for Membership
- Eligibility:
- Membership is open to all private media organizations operating in Nigeria, including newspapers, radio stations, television networks, online news platforms, and multimedia entities.
- Membership Categories:
- Full Members: Organizations that meet all membership criteria and actively participate in APPMEN activities.
- Associate Members: Emerging media organizations or startups that are in the process of establishing themselves but align with APPMEN’s objectives.
- Honorary Members: Individuals who have made significant contributions to the media industry may be granted honorary membership.
- Membership Fees:
- Members are required to pay an annual membership fee determined by the Executive Committee to support the association’s activities.
- Code of Conduct:
- Members must adhere to ethical standards in journalism as outlined by APPMEN’s code of conduct.
- Any member found violating these standards may face disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the association.
- Participation:
- Members are encouraged to actively participate in meetings, workshops, and other events organized by APPMEN.
- Feedback from members will be solicited regularly to improve services and initiatives offered by the association.
- Governance Structure:
- APPMEN is governed by an elected Executive Committee responsible for strategic decision-making and operational oversight.
- Regular elections will be held every two years to ensure democratic representation within the association.
